Our Story

Founded in March 2009, Absolute Threshold (Previously known as Blue Star) is a five person, epic rock/metal band who originated out of Clifton, AZ. Originally formed by lead singer Mat Subia, bassist Ramon Montaño and drummer David Conger, the three started writing music inspired by bands such as Tool, Mudvayne and Breaking Benjamin. Only a short while later they were joined by Ramon's brother Chris on guitar and their good friend Jimmy Armstrong on lead guitar. Heavily influenced by bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria as well as Slipknot, the band had brought together a sound of heavy alternative metal with very strong progressive elements.
Blue Star started to play gigs locally in the Clifton/Morenci/Safford area of Arizona. Later on that year they entered the studio after playing their first gig in Tucson,AZ at the Rock. "Not Yet Risen" was a five song demo that displayed their energetic array of hard hitting heavy rock. After playing local festivals in their home town area, the band took its next step and played the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix. This proved to be influential as the band knew that in order to get their music out to the masses, it was time to relocate to the city.
In mid-2012, pumped about the opportunities that laid ahead for them, Blue Star packed their bags and hit the road to Phoenix. Upon their arrival to the Valley of the Sun, David had parted with the band to pursue other endeavors. A few weeks later, Gavin Donnelly joined the band, who had recently relocated from the New York City area to Phoenix. Heavily influenced by the Big Four and grunge, Gavin's thrashy/grooved style connected with the band. The beginning of 2015, Blue Star officially changed our names to Absolute Threshold. We continued this journey and played many shows ranging from Arizona, California, and Nevada.
In June 2018 we had a change of plans for the band as our brother Gavin Donnelly decided to step down as drummer to venture into other passions. Then received David Conger back after multiple auditions. We started taking music in a new direction at this time. We honed in our focuses in drafting and creating a new alternate universe known as the "Ionic Chronicles (a working title)". This sci-fi adventure is now our main focus for music and concepts moving forward for the project.
November 2019, we received news from our lead vocalist Mat Subia that his adventure with Absolute Threshold had come to an end and decided to part ways. This lead to us searching for a new vocalist which we ultimately found our latest addition to the band, Gabe Greene. Gabe has brought new life into the project with his silky vocals and hard hitting screams. It has been a refreshing feeling having this new addition.
Now leading to today's news, we have officially decided to change the project name one last time to our latest name, World Breach. The music is beyond belief and is a completely different structure than previously created from either Absolute Threshold or Blue Star. We are excited to get the show back on the road and look forward to creating new memories as World Breach. If you are ready to take that next step into a different dimension, we are ready to go on that trip with you. - WB
